Adventure Therapy with Aspire
Aspire provides Adventure Therapy interventions and incorporates adventure therapy influenced approaches within its social recovery programme.
Adventure Therapy uses outdoor, adventure-based activities like hiking, climbing, or rafting, often in natural settings, to help improve mental, emotional, and physical well-being by facing challenges, building resilience, and developing life skills.
It’s a form of experiential therapy where clients actively participate in meaningful experiences that help build self-esteem, nurture new social interactions and develop problem-solving skills, and coping mechanisms that are understood to complement traditional clinical care.
The evidence base for Adventure Therapy demonstrates significant positive outcomes related to improvements in self-esteem, self-image, social functioning and trust, along with a host of other identified benefits to people’s well-being.
