Deaf Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service
Any professional working with a child, young person, or their family can make a referral. This includes schools, teachers of deaf children, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, GPs, paediatricians, and other parts of the National Deaf Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, and Children’s Services.

Our current waiting times are:
- Manchester – 10 months
- Newcastle – eight months
- York – six months
The National Deaf Child and Adolescent Mental Health (North) Service offers a Deaf Mental Health Assessment service for deaf adults aged 18 – 25. This service provides assessments and diagnostic services, with short-term intervention sessions where needed.
