More about the service users we look after
We provide an in-patient service to adult men and women from a range of pathways, including from a prison setting, medium secure, community or in-patient working age adult services.
People receive a range of therapeutic services in a setting which promotes individually-tailored care. We aim to manage risk using the minimum amount of restrictive practice.
We see our service users on a pathway to recovery which includes being discharged to community-based services or to rehabilitation in-patient settings. Dependent their needs, they may return to a prison setting or access in-patient services with a different level of security.
We have two female and two male wards at Clifton House.
Westerdale Ward Westerdale is a 13 bedded ward for men with mental health problems who need admission, assessment and treatment.
Riverfields Ward Riverfields is a 13 bedded ward for men with mental health problems who require treatment, continuing care and rehabilitation.
Bluebell Ward Bluebell is a 12 bedded ward for women with mental health problems who require assessment, treatment and rehabilitation. The Bluebell team were crowned the Trust’s Clinical Team of the Year 2016!
Rose Ward This is a 10 bedded ward for women suffering from personality disorders who require assessment, treatment and rehabilitation. The regional service is in the process of implementing a clinical model based on cognitive analytical therapy. All staff are trained on this approach and encouraged to engage in reflective group supervision as well as individual clinical supervision.
Diverse clinical teams of nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, pharmacists and occupational therapists work together to provide care based on their needs. We offer a wide variety of therapeutic approaches, both in individual and group formats, including cognitive behaviour therapy, cognitive analytic therapy and compassion-focused therapy.
As well as excellent clinical and ward environments, Clifton House also has a range of other facilities for service users, some of which were upgraded in 2014. Service users have access to a gym, a salon, a contemplation room, modern IT facilities, a shared social space, education facilities and a library as well as extensive external gardens and courtyards.
