Learning Disability Specialist Health Planned Care (Respite)
Leeds and York partnership Trust have two Learning Disability Specialist Health Planned Care (Respite) Services. People who use this service require specialist health respite care on a regular basis.
- 2 Woodland Square provides respite for people who have a learning disability, complex physical health needs, including multiple disabilities and sensory impairments.
- 3 Woodland Square provides respite for people who have a learning disability, behaviours that challenge, autism and/or a mental health need.

Referrals to the service are through adult social care. Once you have been successfully referred, Woodland Square staff will meet with you and your carer to assess your needs and enable a smooth transition into the service. When you’re with us, staff will continually reassess your needs in order to support your stays on an ongoing basis. We feel it is essential that both you and your carer feel involved in the care you receive.
The number of nights allocated is set by adult social care. There is a waiting list for admission into both services, it is not known how long the wait will be.
