Research and you (Jul24) 📢New summer date

  • Wednesday 10th July
  • 1 - 2:30pm
  • Lovell Park Hub (Woodhouse, Leeds)

Research and you

Clinical research is the study of health and illness, it is the way we learn how to prevent, diagnose and treat illness to help people get, and stay well.

Clinical research describes many different elements of scientific investigation but don’t think that just means lots of scientists in white coats! More often than not, it involves talking to people about their experiences and building up an evidence base of what works.

Sharing your own personal experience can help improve and develop health care, and in this workshop we’ll talk about what research is, how it shapes the delivery of health care and way’s that you may choose to get involved.

In this workshop we will:

• Discuss what clinical research is and some of the myths surrounding it
• Explore the benefits of supporting clinical research
• Share examples of what research is currently being done in Leeds and surrounding areas.
• Talk about the different ways in which you may want to get involved
