  • St Mary's House (Chapel Allerton)

Patient and carer experience is valuable and provides insights into how it feels to be on the receiving end of care.  Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust welcomes people with experience of mental health services and carers to be part of the recruitment process for new staff.  We’d like your help in recruiting fantastic staff for our service.

The Patient and Carer Experience Team work within Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust to ensure that patients, service users, carers, staff and the public are able to work together to improve patient experience and enhance mental health services.

The Interviewer skills workshop is an opportunity for people who would like to get involved, and support the trusts staff recruitment and interview process, as a interview panel member.

The workshop, delivered over 2 session will provide an insight into the trusts recruitment and selection process and explore some of the skills that make an interview process successful.  The course is an opportunity for people to learn more about the process, and there is an invitation to practice being on an interview panel.

In session 1, we will:

  • Look at the different services and staff teams that work within the trust
  • Consider steps in the recruitment and selection process
  • Explore the ‘do’s & don’t of interviewing

In session 2, we will go on to:

  • Identify what makes a good interview question
  • Explore what things we’re looking for in a interviewees answers
  • Have the opportunity to experiment with different interview questions

Refreshments and a light lunch will be provided on both days.
