1. Where are we now?
- We’re delighted that our new children and young people’s inpatient unit Red Kite View is fully operational
- We are caring for more children and young people with eating disorders
- We’ve seen a 50% increase in referrals for our deaf children and adolescents service
2. Where do we want to be in 12-18 months' time?
- Open a day service eating disorder facility at Mill Lodge
- Have Red Kite View fully staffed
- Provide services for deaf people aged 18-25 to help fill a gap in service provision for deaf young adults living in the community
- Provide facilities at Red Kite View for children and young people in crisis in need of immediate help in a public place
3. How we are going to get there
- Modify our Mill Lodge site so it has the facilities to care for people with eating disorders
- Recruit the right staff with the right skills for our services
- Put the right policies and procedures in place, collaborating with our partners
4. How we will improve service user and carer experience
- Make our eating disorder services easier to access by bringing them closer to where children and young people live
- Ensure young people stay in hospital for no longer than they need to
5. How we will improve staff experience
- Ensure our staff have the right facilities to do their jobs
- Invest in and develop our staff to improve their experience as an employer of choice
6. How we will reduce health inequalities and improving equality, diversity and inclusion
- Support deaf children and adolescents from diverse backgrounds to access our services
- Provide equitable access to our services for all communities in Leeds and York
