Experts from the NHS Northern Gambling Service (NGS) will be running a free webinar for professional services and stakeholders across Yorkshire and the Humber interested in providing better support to those whose lives can be devastated by this addiction.
The webinar will be hosted by Consultant Psychologist and national gambling reform campaigner Matt Gaskell (pictured) from 1-2pm on Tuesday 6 December 2022.
Matt and his colleagues will cover:
- What is gambling addiction and why is it hidden?
- Identifying gambling problems
- Referring for support
- The work of the NGS
- A lived experience testimony from a service user who has benefited from the NGS
- Questions from the audience
The NHS Northern Gambling Service (also known as the Northern Gambling Clinic) provides specialist addiction therapy and recovery to people affected by gambling addiction, as well as those with mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and suicidal feelings. They also provide help to people close to those with gambling addiction, such as family, partners, and carers.
