Our Award Winning Year

Winners

The Channel Swimming and Piloting Federation awarded the Special Recognition Award to Verity Joyce, a Practice Development Practitioner with our Veterans Mental Health Service (part of NHS Op Courage), for her achievement in becoming the first deaf woman to swim the channel.

Red Kite View, our Children and Young People’s inpatient unit, won Project of the year and the Integration and Collaborative Working Award at July’s ‘Constructing Excellence in Yorkshire and Humber.

The project also picked up the New Build Project of the Year Award from The Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estates Management (IHEEM).

Gilling Dod Architects and Tilbury Douglas, who led the Red Kite View project, picked up two awards; the Clinician’s Choice Award for Best Development and the Best Carbon Reduction Initiative at the Building Better Healthcare 2022 awards.

Our services also achieved great wins at the National Positive Practice in Mental Health Awards 2022. The Veterans High Intensity Service (HIS) won in the Specialist Service category, and the Leeds Autism Diagnostic Service (LADS) won in the Learning Disability and/or Autism/or ADHD category.

Tara Mitchell won Mental Health Social Worker of the Year 2022, Gold Winner.

Recognition

The Lord Mayor of Leeds recognised colleagues across Health and Social Care in the city. Joanna Forster Adams and Wendy Tangen received awards at the ceremony for their leadership during the pandemic.

Highly Commended

The Specialised Supported Living Service was Highly Commended at the National Positive Practice in Mental Health Awards 2022.

Notable finalists

West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership Root out Racism campaign was nominated for two awards at the Promoting Diversity and Inclusion in Communications Award at the NHS Communicate 2022 Awards. The Root out Racism campaign was also nominated for the NHS Communications Initiative of the Year Award at the HSJ Awards 2022.

The Student Nursing Times shortlisted Hannah Shephard for the Student Nurse of the Year for Clinical Research award.

Gender Outreach Workers were nominated for the Community Organisation Award for the LGBT category of the National Diversity Awards.

A sports NHS volunteering project with the Trust and Leeds Uni was shortlisted for a British University and College Sports Award for ‘Participation Programme of the Year 2022‘.

The National Diversity Awards shortlisted our Gender Outreach Team for a Community Organisation Award (LGBT category).

The Medipex NHS Innovation Awards shortlisted our R&D team for their project to create a Consent for Contact register, increasing service user access to opportunities to participate in research.
Leeds Synergi is a finalist in the Health Category at the Legacy Awards, which takes place on the 15 October.

The CAHPO Awards Ceremony shortlisted The AHP faculty for the Chief AHP award for leadership for equality, diversity and inclusion.

Accreditation

The Perinatal Community Mental Health Service received accreditation from the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ perinatal quality network.

The Veterans Service received the Silver ERS Award.
