You are invited to our internationally recruited staff celebration event

You are invited to join us on Monday January 15th, 2024, at St Chad’s Parish Centre Otley Road Headingly, Leeds as we celebrate the contribution of our internationally recruited staff at Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

We are gathering to embrace positive diversity and appreciate the impact our international nurses, occupational therapists and doctors make in the delivery of our services.

If you are a colleague with an interest in celebrating faith and cultural diversity, then this event is a must-not-miss for you.

We will have key speakers talking about the value of international recruitment. There will be local community groups stalls where you can network and learn more about what’s going on in Leeds. We will have music from local performers and you can enjoy a free lunch that will give you taste of global cuisine!

Who should attend?

Internationally recruited nurses, occupational therapists and doctors recruited in the last 18 months and their managers. Other internationally recruited or educated staff from across the Trust that have held those roles. Support staff for international recruitment, those with an interest in international recruitment at the Trust, those with indirect lived experience of different cultures.

Why should you attend?

To enjoy a fun day of celebrations with colleagues at the Trust. It’s a chance to watch entertainment from across the world, hear from key speakers at the Trust and others with lived experience of moving from overseas. What will you get from attending?

International colleagues will get to feel valued and appreciated for their commitment to migrating to work for LYPFT and the NHS. Managers of international colleagues/supporting colleagues will be made more aware of the wide variety of cultures we have at LYPFT and also learn how they can support their colleagues in settling into their communities.

What will you learn about being an international recruit?

If you are new to the UK, you will receive information about the local community. This will help you feel more settled and integrated with the help of community groups and experiences outside of work. You will also receive information about opportunities at LYPFT on career development and colleague experience. Those who are not new to the UK will be able to experience aspects of different cultures, network with peers and celebrate colleagues.
