Influencing national and regional agendas
The Research department continue to influence national and regional agendas.
George Crowther, Clinical Lead for Research has continued to support the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) on the guidance for the use of mobile electrocardiograms (ECGs) in psychiatry. NICE has now approved mobile ECGs for use with a call for further evidence.
We continue to host the NIHR EMRI (National Institute of Health and Care Research Ethnic Minorities Research Inclusion) West Yorkshire hub lead, Abi Wilson. Abi is a Clinical Studies Officer within the department and act as hub lead 1 day a week.
Sarah Cooper was also part of the organising committee for the UKRD Summit. This national conference is for those in clinical research who report to board. Sarah is also currently seconded to the NIHR Clinical Research network once a week to provide strategic leadership to the network. Sarah is able to influence a regional strategy for commercial research that considers the needs of all organisations including mental health.
Influencing regional agenda
- COMIC have supported the development of the Yorkshire Youth Mental Health Research Forum which showcases research in youth mental health from across the region.
