Rough Sleepers Mental Health Service (RSMHS)

Our approach to working with the people referred to our service is underpinned by a relational and pre-treatment focused approach; this means that we prioritise establishing trust and building relationships before we consider introducing formal interventions. We use a flexible approach to engagement, including truly meeting a person where they are at through outreach, alongside working closely with partner organisations, service users, and connected others to develop a robust understanding of their needs and support them to access support as needed.

We work as a multi-disciplinary team, and people accessing our service may work with the following professions:

• community support worker(s)
• mental health practitioner(s), including nurses, social workers, or occupational therapists
• psychological practitioners, including trainees
• doctors

We also work closely with partner organisations, including Forward Leeds, Bevan Healthcare, Leeds City Council, and Change Grow Live (Street Outreach).
