Learning Disability Specialist Health Planned Care (Respite)

Leeds and York partnership Trust have two Learning Disability Specialist Health Planned Care (Respite) Services.

  • 2 Woodland Square provides respite for people who have a learning disability, who have also complex physical health needs, including multiple disabilities and sensory impairments.
  • 3 Woodland Square provides respite for people who have a learning disability, behaviours that challenge, service users may also autism and/or a mental health need.

Sign on a brick building reads ‘Welcome to 2 Woodland Square’ with a colorful illustration of the building and green shrubs. A wooden door and yellow flowers are visible to the left, with leafy branches in the foreground.

Referrals to the service are through Adult Social Care. Once you have been successfully referred, Woodland Square staff will link with you and your carer to assess your needs and enable a smooth transition into the service. Going forward they will continually reassess your needs in order to support your stays on an ongoing basis. We feel it is essential that both you and your carer feel involved in the care you receive.

The numbers of nights allocated are set by adult social care. People who use this service require specialist health respite care on a regular basis, your stays are planned in advance. Please note there may be a waiting list for admission into either service, it is unclear how long this waiting list will be for.
