Helping our service users and carers with the cost of living

The Trust has published a special cost of living information booklet for our service users and carers based in Leeds.

Woman speaking to health workerIt was developed by a small group that came together last year to look at what urgent and practical things we could do to support our most vulnerable communities.

The group realised that a lot of information was available online, but this might present a barrier for our most vulnerable people who are often digitally excluded.

It’s designed to offer practical help and signposting to existing support including income and disability benefits, cost of living payments for energy, bills and allowances, childcare, housing and travel. It also has information on how to get help in a mental health crisis, and how to connect with local community groups that could help too.

Copies of the booklet have been distributed to staff in our services that cover the Leeds area. They can be used in discussions between our service users and staff, but copies could also be handed out if appropriate.

The booklet was put together by the Trust’s Communications Team.
