Cllr Emma Flint
Constituency: Leeds City Council
appointed to the Council of Governors & Our Governors
I have lived in Leeds since I came to university to study sociology back in 1994. I have worked largely in the third sector, firstly as a youth worker and then with women’s charities. I developed an interest in health inequalities after working at The Joanna Project, working with women involved in street sex work and understanding the multiple barriers these women faced every day. I co-founded The Wren Bakery social enterprise, a training cafe set up to support and equip women to take steps towards employment. I have been a councillor since 2021 in the Weetwood ward.
