Understanding Paths to Anorexia Recovery

Study exploring recovery from Anorexia Nervosa.

What is this study about?
This study aims to understand recovery from Anorexia Nervosa by exploring factors that may affect recovery in the year after treatment. The study focuses on recovery, eating disorder thoughts, and social support.

What is involved?
Participants will complete online surveys every three months for a year, covering topics like recovery, eating disorder thoughts, and social support. They can also choose to participate in optional interviews. Each session will take about 30–45 minutes, and participants will be compensated £10 for each survey session, and an additional £10 for each optional interview.

Who can take part?
The participant will be:

  • 16 years-old or older
  • Previous diagnosis of Anorexia Nervosa (or subtypes) or Atypical Anorexia
  • Discharged from any type of treatment for Anorexia Nervosa in the previous three months
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Have access to a mobile phone or computer where they can utilise Microsoft Teams or Zoom

How can people get involved?
Eligible participants will be invited to take part by someone working in the service.
