Parenting as a partner of someone who gambles
Study to understand the impact of having a parent who gambles and it's effect on their partner.
What is the study about?
This study is exploring how partners of people who engage in harmful gambling experience and manage parenting. The research investigates the challenges these concerned significant others face, how they cope, and the impact on their wellbeing and parenting, with the goal of informing future support services for families affected by gambling.
What is involved?
Participants will be asked to take in an interview in-person or virtually (approximately 60 minutes). The interviews will be recorded, transcribed, anonymised, and securely stored, and you’ll also provide basic demographic details such as age, ethnicity, and gender.
Who can take part?
Participants must be: 18 years old or over Currently in a relationship and co-parenting children between ages 0-17 with someone who engages in harmful gambling, or have been in such a relationship within the last two years A person who has joint parental responsibility for the child(ren). English speaking
How can people get involved?
Eligible participants will be invited to take part by a clinician in the service.
