Easy ECG
A study testing a six-lead ECG for those taking antipsychotic medication who have to take the 12‑lead ECG as part of their care
What is the study about?
This study is testing whether a small handheld ECG device (the Kardia 6‑Lead) can safely and accurately replace the standard 12‑lead ECG for people taking antipsychotic medication, who need regular heart checks. It will also look at whether the handheld device is quicker, easier, and more acceptable for both patients and staff
What is involved?
The participant will have their basic information recorded, including age, medical history, height and weight, before completing two heart tests: a standard 12‑lead ECG and then the 6‑lead ECG. After the tests they will answer a very short two‑question survey about which ECG they preferred and why, this will take approximately one hour.
Who can take part?
The participant will be: Aged 18 years or older Someone who is taking, or about to be prescribed, an antipsychotic medication Able to give consent themselves, or have a personal consultee if they lack capacity
How can people get involved?
Participants who are eligible to get involved will be invited to take part by their clinicians.
