Research Heroes: LCH Reception Staff at Kippax Health Centre- Championing Collaborative Working
This month we’re celebrating Tara and Sheryl from the LCH admin team for the outstanding support they’ve given R&D colleagues working from Kippax Health Centre. Their warm welcome, proactive engagement, and genuine interest in understanding the specific needs and routines of the R&D team demonstrate clear commitment to collaborative working. Their approach consistently reflects LCH’s ‘magnificent behaviours’: caring for one another, adapting to change, working collaboratively, and finding solutions.
In January, LCH and LYPFT staff were informed of imminent roof replacement at Kippax at extremely short notice, bringing an anticipated seven weeks of disruption with very limited information. Faced with this challenge, Tara and Sheryl went above and beyond to gather accurate updates, communicate clearly with the R&D team, and ensure colleagues had access to alternative rooms when needed. Their calm, organised, and solution-focused approach ensured continuity for staff and service users and helped maintain a supportive working environment throughout the disruption.
Their dedication has had a meaningful impact on the R&D team’s ability to continue delivering high‑quality work at Kippax. Tara and Sheryl’s professionalism, kindness, and unwavering support exemplify the very best of LCH, and we are delighted to recognise and celebrate their outstanding contribution.
Tara and Sheryl said
“To us this is all part of our job, but we are so proud to help and support the incredible Research Team. We understand how vital research is to give a better understanding of a health condition. This can literally help to change patient’s lives for the better. Any support we can give is a pleasure.”
