Our Blue Light teams provide a range of mental health support to our partners in the emergency services in Leeds, including the police and paramedics. This includes the services detailed on this page.
Mental Health Crisis Triage (also known as Street Triage)

This team responds quickly to requests for support from paramedics and the police called out to people in a mental health crisis.

Section 136 Health-based Place of Safety

This is a service for adults of any age who are detained by the Police for their own safety under Section 136 of the Mental Health Act. It’s a safe place where they can receive a mental health assessment with health professionals, rather than be detained in police custody.

CAMHS* Section 136 Health-based Place of Safety

This is a service for people under 18 years old who are detained by the Police for their own safety under Section 136 of the Mental Health Act. It’s a safe place where they can receive a mental health assessment with health professionals, rather than be detained in police custody.

* CAMHS stands for child and adolescent mental health service.
