Gender Identity Service
We are committed to ensuring you receive the care and support you need while you wait for a referral or assessment or consider a referral.
Gender Outreach Worker Support
Our Gender Outreach Workers are here to offer advice and support from the point of your referral. They can also provide information to those considering a referral. We support people across England who are accessing the Leeds Gender Identity Service.
We work closely with Yorkshire MESMAC, Lancashire LGBT, and other organisations to bring peer support to you.

Information and advice line
You can call our Information and Advice Line on 0800 183 1486. We can help with various needs related to your transition, such as:
- Practical advice on name changes and document updates
- Information about the Gender Identity Service
- Signposting to other organisations and support near you
- If you need more time to talk, we can arrange a one-to-one session.
One-to-one sessions
We offer one-to-one support sessions via online video, telephone, or in person. These sessions provide practical advice and discuss your individual needs. Feel free to ask any questions. Email the Gender Outreach Worker inbox to learn more.
Peer support and social groups
Many people find that groups are a great way to access information and support from peers with similar experiences. We offer various groups both in-person and online. These groups provide opportunities to receive support or simply listen to others’ journeys. You can participate at your own pace.
Groups can help you make new connections, increase your confidence, and improve your wellbeing. Email the Gender Outreach Worker inbox to learn more or follow us on Facebook or Instagram. You can access our Gender Outreach Worker resources and group activity posters on Linktree.
