Spread the word!

Could you encourage service users, carers, family or friends to get involved and find out more about projects in and around LYPFT?  SUN welcomes new members to drop in, listen in or give their views. It takes place every first Wednesday of the month. Groups like SUN can be a stepping stone in mental health recovery and can help to build personal connections. Let people know they can just come along and pop in!

Service User Network (SUN) meetings are held monthly and there is a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. There is usually a guest speaker, often invited at the request of members. The group works closely with the Trust in order to help improve services and are consulted regularly on new Trust policies and procedures. People are encouraged to share their own stories, if they are able. This has proven to be a positive experience for everyone and helps to unite the group.

SUN members can bring their ideas or concerns about any Trust services and they will be listened to. Issues raised will then be taken to Trust governance meetings for comment and action. SUN ensures that the member’s recommendations are valued and acted upon, and that regular feedback on these recommendations is provided.

SUN helps empower and inspire people, giving them hope and insight, which helps with their continued personal recovery and wellbeing.

Refreshments will be available. To find out more about the meeting or the SUN group, please contact Vanessa Johnson on 0113 85 56758 (X56758) or email sunlypft@nhs.net.
