Who is your Unsung Hero at the Trust?

Now is the time to nominate them for an award so they can be recognised.

Do you know someone in a non-clinical role that deserves recognition for the work they do at LYPFT?

The Unsung Hero Awards (UHA) is back for 2024 and wants you to nominate your deserving colleagues so they can step out of the shadows and into the spotlight.

UHA is the only national awards for non-medical, non-clinical NHS staff and volunteers.

There are five distinct categories in which you can nominate people for the sterling work they do each and every day, and they are:

  • IT & Digital
  • Estates & Ancillary
  • Corporate Services
  • Admin & Clerical
  • Volunteer of the Year

The judges are looking for people and teams that show exceptional commitment to delivering the very best in their sector.

The judges are looking for people and teams that show exceptional commitment to delivering the very best in their sector.

To win an award the nominated person or team’s nomination should show the following:

• They demonstrate the values of authenticity and trustworthiness and show care for their community
• They innovate and push work-related boundaries where appropriate and possible
• They work in such a way that they naturally promote the message that “everyone is of equal importance”
• They promote a sense of gratitude, fairness, transparency and above all else: inclusiveness

The judges for the five categories feature a host of eminent NHS professionals and personalities and will be looking for examples of excellence, those shining stars in the darkness that don’t often get recognised for the work they do that keeps LYPFT going day after day.

The official deadline for nominations is very close, so please take the time to submit yours in good time. You might end up celebrating with them at the gala event in Manchester next March.

Key dates for the awards are:

  • 15 December – Official deadline for nominations
  • 11 January 2024 – Shortlist announced
  • 15 March 2024 – Winners announced at UHA event in Manchester

Thank you, and good luck to all the nominees from LYPFT.
