Trust consultant features in BBC documentary

The programme on male eating disorders was presented by Nigel Owens, an international rugby referee with experience of bulimia.

Dr Rhys Jones, Consultant in Eating Disorders Psychiatry at the Yorkshire Centre for Eating Disorders, has appeared in a BBC Wales documentary about male eating disorders presented by rugby referee, Nigel Owens.

In the half-hour programme, ‘Nigel Owens: Bulimia and Me’, Nigel meets men, boys and their families in Wales who are affected by eating disorders, and addresses his own battle with bulimia.

He also visits The Newsam Centre in Leeds, to find out more about male eating disorders from Dr Rhys Jones.

In the film, the pair speak about a number of different issues, including the specific challenges that men may face when trying to overcome an eating disorder.

The programme was broadcast on BBC Wales at 8.30pm on Monday 24 July and is now available on iPlayer.
