Congratulations to Steven, our STAR Award winner

Steven is a Team Secretary for the West North West Community Mental Health Team.

Steven was presented with a STAR Award for the ‘huge contribution’ he’s made  to Malham House after receiving nominations from two of his colleagues.

Since arriving at Malham House on secondment, Steven has worked hard to put a number of new systems and processes in place and has been credited with ‘improving the lives of all staff at Malham House’. His nominees describe him as being full of energy and enthusiastic, helping the team to work better together.

Steven said: “Each day here is different and while we can face challenging circumstances, as a team we pull together and are very supportive of one another”.

“We all work together to achieve the best we can for our service users and I feel we work well as a team”.

“If we’re going to deliver an effective and safe service, then the admin support needs to be there as well. I wanted to ensure that there were systems in place so that everything could run smoothly.”

Steven was presented with his STAR Award by Lindsay Jensen, Deputy Director of Workforce Development.

The Awards recognise teams and individuals within the Trust who go above and beyond the call of duty at work. They celebrate those who epitomise the Trust’s values and are dedicated to providing a first-class service for service users.

As well as a certificate and an invitation to the Trust’s annual awards ceremony, Steven also received £100 of high street gift vouchers as part of his prize.

He added: “I’m very shocked and overwhelmed to win a STAR Award. I thought I was invited here to take minutes for a meeting!”

“I wasn’t expecting it at all. I just thought I was doing my job. I’m very thankful to my nominees and the team for being so supportive”.
