Research Hero of the Month - July

Thank you Tom and the Recruitment Team

This month’s Research Hero is Tom Marten. The support of our recruitment department has made the recruitment process as efficient as possible, ensuring roles are filled in a timely manner improving our team capacity to deliver on quality research project.

Tom in particular has always gone over and above in supporting us in the recruitment of new staff over the past 12 months. He is always extremely responsive and pragmatic to our numerous and sometimes never ending queries about processes such as advertising, interviews, and pre-employment checks.

“It was a real surprise to be nominated for this month’s Research Hero. I feel so thankful and genuinely humbled – R&D often have complex and fast paced recruitment needs due to the ‘fixed term’ nature of their roles, we work closely to ensure the best possible recruitment experience – the team is always a real joy to work with.

“In my role I manage LYPFT’s Recruitment Team. We are a small team but we really work hard to provide a professional, supportive, and efficient service to the trust so to hear the R&D team have had such a positive experience working with us is just fantastic – I count myself very lucky to get to work with such inspirational people every day.

“We love seeing the collaborative effort come to fruition when new employees join the organisation and the positive impact this has on the trust, and ultimately our service users.”
