New Director of Workforce appointed

Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) has appointed Claire Holmes as its new Director of Workforce and Organisational Development.

Claire is a human resources director with 17 years’ experience working across a variety of sectors, both public and private, including professional services, financial services, retail and two years at a mental health NHS trust.  She is expected to start in post in early October.

Claire will take over from Lindsey Jensen who stepped up as acting Director of Workforce Development earlier this year following the retirement of Susan Tyler.

LYPFT’s Chief Executive, Sara Munro, said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming Claire to the Trust in the next two months. This follows a highly competitive selection process where she stood out as an exceptional candidate.

“I’m confident Claire can help us realise our vision of providing outstanding mental health and learning disability services as an employer of choice, and the leadership required to ensure we provide a rewarding and supportive place to work.”

For the last nine years Claire has worked as Group HR Director for the NPS Group, a multidisciplinary property design and consultancy company wholly owned by Norfolk County Council. She has also spent the last two years in a role on the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce Young Chamber Board, an initiative targeted at bridging the gap between young people and business.

Claire said: “I am thrilled to have been invited to take up this position. Having previously worked for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust from 2007 to 2009, I understand the how important the services provided by LYPFT are to the local community.

“I enjoy leading on all aspects of HR and working closely with an organisation’s leaders to ensure HR is an enabler of strategic aims and objectives. I have a passion for creating a positive environment for the workforce and driving a culture of continuous improvement.

“Working for a commercial, publically owned and values-driven organisation over the last nine years has presented a whole host of unique challenges and opportunities and I look forward to applying this experience with fresh eyes to my new role at LYPFT.”
