New out-of-hours Liaison Psychiatry Service

The Trust is now offering a new out-of-hours Liaison Psychiatry Service for patients at Leeds General Infirmary and St James’s University Hospital.

The out-of-hours Specialist Practitioner Service will offer mental health advice and assessment, and will provide a single point of contact for Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust (LTHT) to refer:

• Patients of all ages who require immediate mental health assessment and advice on their immediate care due to their acute needs
• Patients of all ages who cannot wait until normal working hours for assessment or review because of urgent need
• Patients under the age of 18 who present to the Emergency Department out-of-hours with self-harm or mental health difficulties.

The service will operate Monday to Friday between 8.30pm and 9am and 24-hours at the weekend.
