Congratulations to Jill, our STAR Award winner

The latest Star Award winner is Jill Denbigh, Support Service Secretary for the CFS/ME Service.

Jill, who’s worked in the service for 14 years, was nominated by two of her colleagues.

Jill said: “I’m so shocked to be presented with a Star Award, I’m just doing my job. To others I’m going above and beyond my role, but to me I’m just doing what needs to be done. We all spend a lot of hours at work so it’s important to enjoy it. I’ve been covering a vacancy as well as my own role so it’s been quite busy and sometimes difficult but I like what I do.”

In the nominations, Jill was described as being ‘incredibly supportive’.

Mary Dresser said: “Jill goes above and beyond what should be expected of her. Recently due to staff sickness, Jill volunteered to come in and cover on her day off, mentioning how important the event taking place was for patients and their families.

“Jill is incredibly supportive to staff and is known as the ‘go to’ person within the admin office. If she doesn’t know the answer she will make every effort to find out.”

Debbie Taylor said: “Jill is often in contact with patients calling about appointments or with queries, sometimes distressed. Jill shows genuine empathy and calmly supports the service users. She ensures the service runs effectively, efficiently and smoothly, being creative with solution focused outcomes.”
