Can you help improve mental health services for older people?

People with experience of older people's mental health services in our area are being asked to share their views at an event to be held this month.

The independent focus group event, which will take place on Thursday 28 July, aims to use local people’s personal experiences to help improve the mental health services available to older people in our area.

Organisers of the event are particularly keen to hear from people, including families and carers, who have accessed the following NHS services:

  • Memory services
  • Community Mental Health Team (over 65)
  • Liaison Psychiatry Services
  • Younger People with Dementia Team
  • Care Home Liaison

The event forms a vital part of Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust’s review of the care and support available to local older people who are living with mental health conditions, such as dementia.

The Trust is keen to hear about people’s direct experiences of those services and their ideas for how they can be improved.

The event will be held between 1pm and 3pm on Thursday 28 July at Age Uk’s Arch Cafe,Mark Lane (just off The Headrow), Leeds LS2 8JA.

The venue is accessible, and there will be plenty of tea and coffee.
