Brian Coupe
Constituency: Staff: Clinical
elected to the Council of Governors & Our Governors
Hello. I am an experienced nurse with over 44 years’ service currently working in the Practice Learning and Development Team (PLDT) as a Legacy Mentor. My NHS career spans a number of roles from volunteering, through training as a student nurse, then into various clinical practice areas, culminating in senior management and leadership roles in learning disability, adult mental health, corporate offices, and older people’s mental health.
My current role in the PLDT enables me to work with people from across the organisation developing meaningful connections through 1:1 or group/team support, supervision, learning, mentorship, and coaching. These connections have meaning and are important as I am particularly interested in supporting individuals and teams to realise their potential and to develop their resilience and confidence thus becoming as effective and efficient as possible.
Extending this work by becoming a governor for the Trust would help me to support and influence not only the Trust Board, but also the wider workforce, service users, families and carers, members, and the public. I believe my professional knowledge, training, and experience would add to the team and its work.
The essence of my nomination is that I am passionate about making a positive difference, using every opportunity and possibility available to help shape a better future for the Trust and its partners as we strive to ensure the services we provide meets all our customers’ expectations.
