Wendy Neil was appointed as a Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry in the Trust in 2007 and is currently based in the West North West of Leeds at Millfield House. She works as part of the following locality based teams:
- Community Mental Health Team: providing care, treatment and support to older people with mental health, dementia and complex frailty presentations.
- Memory Assessment Services: providing assessment, diagnosis and treatment for people with memory problems.
- Intensive Home Treatment Teams for Older People: providing care, treatment and support to older people with more acute or intensive mental health, dementia and complex frailty presentations.
Wendy is also the Trust’s Deputy Medical Director. Her personal research interests include the assessment and management of dementia and mild cognitive impairment in the community setting.
Beyond the organisation Wendy has been involved in various local, regional and national initiatives to help develop standards and improve services for people with mental health problems and dementia. She has been an expert advisor to NICE and Health Education England/Skills for Health and is currently the Royal College of Psychiatrists Deputy Regional Advisor for Yorkshire and the Humber.
