Dr Burn became a Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist in Leeds in 1990 and she currently works part time in a community post.
Wendy’s main clinical interest is dementia. She has held Regional leadership positions in this area and sits on National Groups for the planning of dementia care.
Dr Burn has been involved in the organisation and delivery of postgraduate training since starting as a consultant. She has held numerous roles in education and was the first Head of the Yorkshire School of Psychiatry. She has also had many educational positions within the Royal College of Psychiatrists and was College Dean from 2011 to 2015.
Wendy became the Co-chair of the Gatsby Wellcome Neuroscience Project in 2015 and took up office as President of the College in 2017
