Dr Roberts works as a CAMHS consultant in a highly specialist CAMH service for Deaf Children and Families. This is a Northern regional service providing specialist assessments and interventions for Deaf children and families. They are a bilingual and bicultural team with Deaf and hearing staff. Sophie has additional qualifications in British Sign Language and she has a particular interest in children with a history of attachment issues and developmental trauma and how this impacts their mental health.

Sophie also has an additional management role within the trust. She is currently the interim Clinical Director for the specialist services and learning disability care group. In this role, Sophie works alongside the associate director, clinical leads and operational managers to ensure high quality services are developed and delivered across the care group, leading on clinical governance and the quality development agenda.
She is also part of the senior leadership team of the trust and can help to influence the strategic developments of the organisation.
