Dr Adeyefa qualified from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria in 2010, and began psychiatry training at the University College Hospital (also in Ibadan, Nigeria) in 2013. He then moved to the UK in 2018, working as a specialty doctor before commencing higher training in General Adult Psychiatry in 2020.

He sub-specialized in liaison psychiatry, completed his training in 2023 and took up his first consultant post with Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust in August 2023. He currently works as a liaison psychiatrist in St. James’ University Hospital and Leeds General Infirmary where he provides care and treatment for people admitted for physical illnesses who also have a variety of mental health difficulties.

As well as his clinical role, Dr Adeyefa is an Educational Supervisor for Core Trainee Psychiatrists, supporting and supervising trainees through their early psychiatric careers. He is also one of the trust leads for clinical attachments, supporting doctors new to UK practice who are undertaking clinical observer ships. He coordinates the trust’s academic teaching programme too.
