Rough Sleepers Mental Health Service (RSMHS)

Who are we?

We are a new service that launched in November 2023, made up of a small team of people from different backgrounds. Each member brings something unique and special to the team and shares a common goal of helping support the rough sleeper community in Leeds.

The overarching aim of the RSMHS is a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE; Johnson and Haigh, 2010, 2011), Introducing the PIE approach. In the RSMHS context, PIEs aim to improve the psychological and emotional wellbeing of rough sleepers and the teams working with them by way of attending to and utilising relationships, reflective practice (including staff support and training), social spaces, psychological frameworks, and evidence-generating practices.

How do we help?

We offer consultations for staff within the LYPFT Trust and from external services who work with rough sleepers. We are a barrierless service and are committed to supporting health inclusion for the vulnerable rough sleeper community.
