Springtime treats a small 'Thank You' to our teams.

Staff could grab a free hot drink and a brownie, courtesy of the Trust.

For two weeks in March, our Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) and local entrepreneur Mister Coffee visited our sites across Leeds and York to give our staff a free hot drink and sweet treat as a ‘thank you’ for their continued hard work.

The Health and Wellbeing Team was also on the road at select sites, providing information about the range of services available to keep you physically, mentally, and financially fit. The Hands at Work team were there to give a free massage, and the staff had a chance to win some prizes! This was part of the Trust Reward and Recognition programme and our continued staff wellbeing support.

For colleagues who observe Ramadan during the last four days of our schedule, we provided cold canned drinks and a brownie to take away when they choose to break their fast. For our remote and smaller sites, we sent out a hamper of goodies.

We have also had some wonderful feedback from staff.

“I nearly cried when I thought I’d missed you. I have had a really bad day, and this break is helping me get through it.”

“I’m new and didn’t know you did this. The last Trust I worked with, you got nothing. This is so nice.”

“It was lovely to have Mr Coffee provided on site again, and I particularly appreciated the vegan options that were provided, too!”

“It is great to feel appreciated and the hard work of staff to be recognised in this way. We’d love to see you back in December (or sooner, please!).”

“I’ve been struggling with back pain this week. I came for a back massage today, which I enjoyed thoroughly. The lady giving me the massage was very good and helpful, giving me advice on exercises that would help with my condition. – Thanks very much!”

Thank you so much for arranging the massages as part of the Staff Health & Wellbeing Roadshow! I had one at St. Mary’s Hospital, and it was lovely. I left feeling very relaxed and floaty, which is a task when I’m usually so anxious! The practitioner even very kindly gave me some advice about getting a massage in future – what type to ask for, what type of place would be appropriate and what qualifications to look for since I have some issues with my shoulder. Really enjoyed it – thanks again!

“I just wanted to say a big thank you for arranging the health and wellbeing roadshow. The combination of the free coffee, chocolate brownie, and complimentary massage was a great finish to my working week. I also found the signposting for different support good too. Definitely put a smile on my face!”

“Thankyou to everyone for putting on the Health and Wellbeing Roadshow at The Mount. It was good to know about resources for staff and family members. The free massage by Jerry was very good to however, I think that it may have had better reception by other staff members if it had been in a more private area – although I did avail myself of this facility. The staff presenting this roadshow were very welcoming and lovely. So many thanks, and please keep these roadshows going.”
