MAGNET Phase 3
For people with mild- moderate stage dementia, living at home in the community, either alone or with family. Carers can take part with their family members.
What is the study about?
This project aims to develop and test a programme to improve medicine self-management for people with dementia living at home and their family carers.
What is involved?
Both participants with dementia and carer participants will complete a research appointment at the beginning of the study, which will take around an hour.
They will then be visited Pharmacist from Leeds Community Healthcare, who has been trained in the Magnet medication self-management guide. They will work through the guide and make action points and goals. The Pharmacist will review goals with them 4 weeks later.
Both participants with dementia and carer participants will be invited to complete three more research appointments, at monthly intervals from the beginning of the study.
They are provided with £25 cash each for taking part in the study.
Who can take part?
Participants with dementia will be:
- Living with mild-moderate dementia
- Using two or more medicines
- Living at home
- Living alone or living with family carers
Family carer participants will be:
