Exploring severe mental illness and diabetes

What is this study about?

The EMERALD study aims to improve diabetes outcomes for people living with a severe mental illness (SMI). To do this, the study is looking to understand more about the experiences and needs of people living with both diabetes and SMI.

Who can take part?

Service users:

  • Anyone over the age of 18 living with diagnosis of diabetes and a severe mental health condition.

Carers/Staff:

  • Anyone over the age of 18 who has experience of supporting someone living with both diabetes and a severe mental illness.
What is involved?

Interested participants will be asked to take part in a face to face or telephone interview with a University researcher. They will be asked to share their personal experiences of living or supporting someone with both diabetes and SMI.
