Eating Disorders Genetics Initiative study (EDGI)
What is this study about?
The study will explore how our genes and the environment influence the development of eating disorders to improve future treatment.
Who can take part?
Anyone who may have experienced an eating disorder in the past or who are currently experiencing any eating disorder, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge – eating disorder or any other eating disorder, 16 or over and live in England.
What is involved?
The study is conducted entirely online, it involves going unto the EDGI website to sign up for it. It involves signing a consent form, filling out an online questionnaire, and providing a saliva sample. We will also ask for access to your medical records (so we can find out some important clinical information), and if you are willing to be re-contacted for future research.

To access the study go online to https://edgiuk.org/ to learn more and to sign up to register. Please read the information sheet, provide consent and complete a 30 minute questionnaire to see if you are eligible, if you are you will be sent a saliva DNA sample through the post.
