The COUNTED Study - Communication about treatment options in Memory Assessment Services (MAS)
What is this study about?
The study aims to understand how medications are described to people within Memory Assessment Services. The study will examine how medications are talked about in appointments by video or audio recording conversations between medical professionals and people attending Memory Assessment Services.
Who can take part?
1) People attending MAS and receiving a diagnosis of dementia
2) Relatives or friends attending the MAS appointment with the person receiving a diagnosis of dementia
3) Clinicians working in the MAS
What is involved?
Observations and recordings of diagnostic appointments in which medications are discussed and interviews of people diagnosed with dementia, their relatives and MAS Clinicians.
