Mindmate Leeds – MindMate is a Leeds-based website for young people, their families and the professionals who support them.
Every Mind Matters – NHS approved website where you can get your free plan with tips to help you deal with stress and anxiety, improve your sleep, boost your mood and feel more in control.

This is potentially a really difficult time for many of us emotionally. If you are having thoughts and feelings that you are struggling with, or if you’re supporting people who are finding this time particularly challenging, there’s some helpful guidance from Dr Russ Harris. This is a very practical and thoughtful animated film which outlines a series of tips and techniques for managing stress and anxiety. Many of these techniques will be picked up and repeated in different ways through other resources we are going to share. We hope you enjoy the video and supporting documentation.
Mindfulness – resources provided by Northern Mental Health Support
Mindfulness is simply another word for awareness. It is a skill that you can learn which involves making a particular effort to notice what’s happening in the present moment (in your mind, body and surroundings) – with no extra layers of doubt or judgement.
It aims to help you:
Become more self-aware and focused
Cope with unhelpful or distressing thoughts
Respond more wisely to difficulty
Be kinder and more accepting of yourself (we are often our own worst critics and far harsher with ourselves than we ever would be towards someone else)
If you’re feeling out of control, it can help to think about what you should focus on. Finding the things that you can control and letting go of the things you can’t can be useful for managing these feelings.
BSL Health Access is offering access to immediate, on demand access to BSL interpreters for deaf people in health settings during the Coronavirus situation. This includes things like contact with your GP, visiting a pharmacy or any other healthcare matter (such as having a scan during pregnancy for example). This is provided either by video relay services or video remote interpretation.

A guide for people living with severe mental illness

Bereavement support line
A new support and advice service has been launched to help people across West Yorkshire and Harrogate through grief and loss. The free service, which launches today, will be available 7 days a week, from 8am to 8pm providing practical and emotional support.
MindWell – I need help now
MindWell Leeds lists helplines that you can call throughout the Covid-19 pandemic if you need support now. Some services are changing their offer throughout this time, and MindWell are keeping track of these changes.
Silver Line – for older people
Call 0800 4 70 80 90 for free and confidential help 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Silver Line also offer telephone friendship where they match volunteers with older people based on their interests, facilitated group calls, and help to connect people with local services in their area.
