The Complex Multiple Impairment Team (CMIT) is a specialist city-wide community team that supports people who have a learning disability and enduring and/or lifelong conditions with associated complex physical health needs.
The team provide services specifically for service users who have profound and multiple learning disabilities, whose complex health needs are associated with extremely high levels of dependence and have a requirement for multiple and complex interventions to maintain their health.
The service also has a team of registered learning disability nurses, called the Day Services Nursing Team, who are based in four local authority day centres in Horsforth, West Ardsley, Rothwell and Seacroft Hospital as well as Vine Further Education Centre. The team provides direct nursing care and liaison with other professionals and agencies.
