18-25 Deaf Mental Health Assessment Service
If you are a professional and would like to make a referral, please visit information for healthcare professionals.
Referral criteria
- Referral source: You can self-refer or referrals can be made by a professional.
- Age range: You must be between the ages of 18 – 25 years old.
- Hearing status and language: You must either have a severe or profound hearing level, use British Sign Language as your first or preferred language, or have significant problems with your language.
- Concerns: You think you have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), significant problems with language and communication or concerns regarding your management of emotions and behaviour.
- Impact: There is significant impact on your daily life/functioning, including areas such as employment, housing, education, and relationships.
- GP Registration: You must be registered with a GP.
Self-referral
We provide the option to self-refer. If you would like to do this, please email the team, who will arrange a time to complete the form with you via phone or video call. A British Sign Language interpreter will also be available for this call if required.
