Public holiday arrangements for the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on Monday 19 September 2022

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s State Funeral will take place on 19 September 2022. This day has been declared as a public holiday across the UK. This is to allow as many people as possible to pay their respects to the Late Queen and commemorate Her reign. It also marks the final day of the period of national mourning.

At Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust we will be operating as if it were any other public (bank) holiday. This will allow many of our staff to watch the funeral and mourn the passing of the Queen.

We will of course be running a range of our critical services on Monday and we are very grateful to those dedicated staff who’ll be working that day.

This includes:

  • All inpatient services
  • Crisis services including our Single Point of Access
  • Liaison Psychiatry
  • The Specialised Supported Living Service
  • Learning Disability Respite Services
  • The Intensive Home Treatment Team for Older People and Working Age Adults
  • The Care Homes Team
  • The Learning Disability Intensive Support Team (IST) are operating their weekend and bank holiday cover 8am-8pm.
  • LYPFT’s Perinatal Team and Forward Leeds will also be operating a skeleton service only.

All service users who had planned appointments for Monday 19 September are being contacted to have their appointments rearranged, and to ensure they are aware of what provision is in place for them if they need it.

Members of the public are being advised to access services through NHS 111 or via 111 Online if they need help on Monday 19 September.
