Congratulations to Jady, our STAR Award winner!

The most recent winner is Jady Robinson, Occupational Therapist on Riverfields Ward at Clifton House in York.

Jady was nominated for ‘acting tirelessly for the benefit of the patients’ and for her ‘infectious enthusiasm’.

Susan Tyler, Director of Workforce Development, presented the award. Jady said: “I’m absolutely speechless! I thought we were meeting as a team to discuss how we could work better together!

“It’s lovely to win a STAR Award. It’s really great working on this ward although it does have its difficulties. I only joined the team eight months ago so it’s great to know I’m doing well. I just have such a passion for the job.”

Jady was nominated by her colleague Dr Jim Isherwood, Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist, who said: “Jady acts tirelessly for the benefit of our patients. She is restless in the pursuit of opportunities yet finds time to seek the views of patients to address their specific needs. Recently, a patient that struggles to live alone was offered a highly sought-after supported living placement. The room was not ideal for the patient’s physical health needs and there was a chance that he would suffer physical complications leading to relapse of illness and readmission. Jady campaigned determinedly to secure funding for bespoke equipment to enable the patient to be discharged.

“While Jady is undoubtedly deserving of a STAR Award for her consistent contributions to care and to training junior staff, this single example demonstrates her persistence in the face of challenges and is worthy of recognition alone.”

Jady also recently won the Developing People Award at this year’s Trust Awards for her involvement in organising ‘a celebration of creativity’, an incredible event for staff and patients.
