Briefing on our Director of Nursing, Professions and Quality

A briefing on our Director of Nursing, Professions and Quality from Chief Executive Sara Munro

Our Director of Nursing, Professions and Quality, Anthony Deery, left us at the end of September to take up an exciting new role.

Anthony has made a fantastic contribution to the Trust since he joined us in 2014 and on behalf of the Board, I’d like to thank him for all his hard work, determination and perseverance through some challenging issues and times.

Anthony has taken up a joint clinical lead role with NHS England and NHS Improvement, working across the North of England on the mental health Five Year Forward View, and we wish him every success for the future.

We’ll be temporarily welcoming Paul Lumsdon (pictured left) to the Board who’ll be covering the role on an interim basis for around six months whilst we recruit substantively. Paul has a wealth of NHS experience spanning over 30 years in mental health, community services and district general hospital settings; with 15 years’ experience working at executive board level in two NHS foundation trusts.

Paul retired from the NHS in November 2014 to set up his own healthcare consultancy business through which he’s worked in interim positions in two further foundation trusts, carried out clinical investigations and provided training and development, coaching and supervision.

Paul started with us at the end of September and will be covering all of Anthony’s lead areas, such as the CQC action plan implementation. You can find out more about Paul on his Linked In profile.
