Trust Values in Action: Celebrating August staff and team highlights

ENE Community Learning Disabilities Team of the Month!

The East and North East Community Learning Disabilities Team (ENE CLDT) has been named Team of the Month in recognition of its resilience, teamwork and unwavering commitment to the people it supports.

Over the past six months, the team has experienced significant changes, including staff retirements and colleagues moving on to new roles. With changes affecting a number of key positions across the service, including nursing, medical and leadership roles, the team has faced a period of considerable transition. Despite these challenges, ENE CLDT has continued to work together, support one another and maintain high-quality, person-centred care for service users.

Selina Armstrong, who nominated the team, said:

“Change can be an unsettling time for anyone, and when you experience a lot all at the same time, it can feel overwhelming. However, as a team, they have continued to work well together and support each other through a massive upheaval while continuing to provide a person-centred service to all the service users they support.

“Our team motto is ‘we bridge each other’s gaps’, and this has been very evident throughout this period of change.”

The nomination highlighted the incredible support colleagues have shown one another, maintaining a positive and compassionate approach both within the team and in the care they deliver every day.

Through welcoming new team members, adapting to changing responsibilities and helping colleagues develop in unfamiliar roles, the team has demonstrated the Trust’s values in action. Their willingness to embrace change while ensuring continuity of care has strengthened both the team and the service they provide.

The judging panel praised ENE CLDT for its determination and collaborative spirit. They commented that the nomination was a:

“Good example of working in adversity.”

They also noted that the team stood out for its:

“Resilience, teamwork and maintaining service quality through significant change.”

Another judge added:

“A great example of coming together. Continuity of care and perseverance were clear throughout.”

Congratulations to everyone in the ENE Community Learning Disabilities Team on this well-deserved recognition. Your dedication to supporting each other and delivering excellent care during a period of significant change is an inspiration to colleagues across the Trust.
