Thank you to our amazing volunteers
This Volunteers' Week Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is celebrating the amazing contributions volunteers make to our NHS Trust.
Volunteers’ Week starts on the first Monday in June every year. It’s a chance to recognise, celebrate and thank the UK’s incredible volunteers for all they contribute to our local communities, the voluntary sector, and society as a whole.
LYPFT currently has over 150 volunteers who work closely with our staff in various roles, contributing to over 24,000 hours a year. Our volunteers come from a variety of different communities, cultures and ethnicities and vary in age from 18-90.
The Trust gains the valuable skills and knowledge of people giving their time to work alongside our staff, helping us lead the way in mental health, learning disability and neurodiversity care.
Kicking off this year’s celebrations, our Chief Executive Dr Sara Munro had this to say to our volunteers:
“The Board and I want to say thank you for all that you do for LYPFT. You each play such an important role in helping us to connect with our local communities, help in the day to day running of our services and help to improve the care we provide to our service users and their families.
It is testament to the Trust values how much the role and influence of our volunteers has grown over recent years, and I can’t thank you enough for what you do. So please do take some time to reflect this week on the difference you make to the Trust, both to our staff and to our service users.”
