New website coming soon

Work has been underway behind the scenes to develop a new website for our Trust which is due to launch this spring.

The site will replace our existing website and will be fully responsive, which means it will work just as well on a mobile phone or tablet as it will on a desktop computer. Information will be easier to access and each of our services and locations will have its own dedicated page.

Our Communications Team have worked closely with service users, carers, staff and our partners to develop the new website and work will continue once the site is live to ensure the information it contains is user friendly and accessible to everyone.

New site structure will affect existing hyperlinks

Our existing website was built several years ago and our Trust has grown and developed since it was launched. Feedback from our service users showed that the structure had become difficult to navigate so as a result we have created an alternative, more intuitive structure for the new website.

Although this will mean that information will be easier to find and navigating around the new site will be more user friendly, it will also mean that any hyperlinks to pages on the existing site will no longer work.

This may affect you if you have saved a hyperlink to a page on the existing website as a favourite on your web browser. It may also affect you if you have included a hyperlink to a page on the existing website anywhere else, for example, on a blog, in a leaflet, on another website or in your own records.

You will only be able to change or update these hyperlinks once the new site is live, but you will only need to change or update them once.

If you currently link to just the home page of our existing website using http://www.leedsandyorkpft.nhs.uk you won’t need to make any changes, this address will still work once the new site goes live and will still take you to our home page.

Additional domain names

Our new website will be found at this address: http://www.leedsandyorkpft.nhs.uk

Two other domain names currently point to our existing website and as a result of the launch of the new site these will both be retired. If you have any hyperlinks to our website that do not include the domain name – www.leedsandyorkpft.nhs.uk – you will also need to update these following the new site’s launch.

The two domain names that will be retired are www.leedspft.nhs.uk and http://www.leedsmentalhealth.nhs.uk.
